Jail Based Position:
TITLE: Mental Health Clinician
REPORTS TO: Director of Mental Health
ROLE: We are a privately-owned mental health care organization in Denver providing substance abuse and mental health services to supervised criminal justice clients.
This position will provide mental health services in the Jefferson County Detention Facility, a 1400 bed facility with both male and female inmates. The primary role of the Mental Health Clinician is to assess inmates for risk, including suicide and homicide; evaluate and diagnose inmates for major mental illness; triage inmates appropriately based on mental health and detentions’ needs; work with a multidisciplinary team in a jail setting. This position will also include providing therapy services (group and individual), as well as reentry planning. There is also the opportunity for outpatient work with felony offenders living in the community at our outpatient office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent with experience in corrections and diagnosis. Schedule will be non-traditional and will include weekend work. Salary commensurate with experience.

We are currently seeking a full time therapist and/or contract therapist. The position(s) will consist of evening work, conducting groups, assessments, and individual therapy, Monday through Friday.
There may be some daytime work, if desired.

Master’s Degree REQUIRED and a LAC/CAC II or III preferred. All applicants must be licensed or registered as a psychotherapist with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
Previous experience with offenders preferred.
