For clients with more severe substance abuse problems, clients in this treatment attend two 90-minute groups per week. The first group is psycho-educational in nature and provides clients with curriculum from Phase I of Strategies for Self-Improvement and Changedeveloped in Denver by Kenneth Wanberg and Harvey Milkman. The second group is process-oriented with psycho-educational components included. It allows the clients an opportunity to practice the skills learned in the earlier week’s group. Clients attend group twice weekly for a minimum of 12 weeks, followed by 24 weeks of once weekly groups. Once they have successfully completed the minimum 36 weeks of EOP treatment, the clients will be stepped down into a lower level of care.
